April 9-10, 2015: Houston

Said adios to Austin and took off for for N’awlins (New Orleans!), stopping in Houston for a night to break up the 500 mile/8 hour drive and check out the local scene. Decided to keep Steve with us for a couple days as entertainment.  Continue reading

April 6-7, 2015: Marfa, TX

Via a friend’s recommendation, we decided to go check out Marfa. Marfa is a quaint little town in Western Texas (population:  1,819) known for its art and the Marfa Lights. We stayed at a little “commune” type place called “El Cosmico” where we slept in a teepee and showered in an outdoor communal shower. Was quite an experience! Continue reading

A long time ago, two Israeli Couchsurfers were staying at our house in San Diego and telling us about their travels. They told us about a magical oasis in the middle of the Arizona desert that you can only get to by hiking 10 miles into the Grand Canyon.
